Thorogood's moc toe work boot design in DURABLE FULL-GRAIN LEATHER BOOTS is both comfortable and able to withstand demanding jobs. These American-made boots, crafted by skilled workers in Thorogood's US plants using USA and globally sourced components, are available in Tobacco (804-4200), Trail Crazyhorse (804-4575), and Midnight Black (804-6201) colorways.
The MAXWEAR WEDGE™ TRACTION OUTSOLE on these boots flexes better than other work boot outsoles, absorbing impacts and protecting your feet and ankles while working on difficult surfaces, keeping you stable even on loose gravel, wet, and oily surfaces. The outsole meets ASTM F3445-21 slip-resistance standards.
These STEEL TOE BOOTS FOR MEN protect your feet from on-site impact and compression hazards, while the design keeps them light and flexible, making them some of the best safety toe boots for men with dangerous jobs. They meet ASTM F2413-18 safety toe standards.
The boots also feature EH RESISTANCE, meeting ASTM F2413-18 electrical hazard resistance safety standards. The REMOVABLE ULTIMATE SHOCK ABSORPTION FOOTBED on the Poron Comfort Cushion Insole, with Thorogood's dual-density cushioning using air-permeable open cells to wick away moisture and absorb shock, ensures the most comfortable men's work boots.
Thorogood's history dates back to 1892 when Albert H. Weinbrenner, at the age of 27, opened a cobblery in Milwaukee with partner Joseph Peffer, serving the "Jobbing" trades. The company was formally established as Albert H. Weinbrenner Co. in 1900, and over the decades, it has evolved to become a leading manufacturer of work boots and safety footwear.
In 1916, the company printed its first catalog and had more leather cutting machines than any other in the U.S. The "Job-fitted" concept was introduced in 1917, and Weinbrenner became a major contributor of boots to the U.S. Army during World War I.
The company took its first steps into safety footwear production in 1938 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1942, converting to all-military footwear for the duration of World War II. Military footwear also became popular with civilians during this time.
In 1964, the company introduced the Official Boy Scout Boot: The Hike n' Camp, with a wedge sole and moccasin-style stitching, which became the company's best-selling boot of all time and is still available in its original design today.
Over the years, Weinbrenner, now known as Thorogood, has continued to innovate and expand its product offerings, celebrating milestones such as its 100th anniversary in 1992 and its 125th anniversary in 2017. Today, the company remains committed to upgrading its facilities, equipment, and manufacturing processes, while also launching new product lines, including the first western wear product, Thorogood's Square Toe Wellingtons, in 2022.
